LEARN MORE ABOUT THE TRAINING:
Sankalpa Shakti Yoga is informed by the lineage of Para Yoga and the desire to deepen the aspects of shraddha (faith), sankalpa (intention), willpower, svadharma (one’s unique purpose), smarana (self-remembrance), svadyaya (self-study) and compassion.
This unbroken living lineage of self-mastery has been passed down from teacher to student for over 3000 years. Most of our faculty has been taught in this lineage and continues to be in direct relationship with teacher Yogarupa Rod Stryker and his teacher Pandit Rajmani Tigunait by continuing advanced studies and spending time at the lineages spiritual home, The Himalayan Institute in Honesdale, Pennsylvania.Sankalpa Shakti Yoga is dedicated to educating teachers and students in the ancient technologies of Tantra including mantra, meditation, yoga nidra, ayurveda, laya yoga, kriya, visualization and pranayama that can be weaved through modern vinyasa practice to offer a more potent and effective yoga experience that leads to transformation, freedom and joy in the everyday.

Who is this training for?
This training is for dedicated students and teachers who are interested in deepening their understanding of the teachings of Yoga and Tantra from a place of embodied experience. The experiential nature of this training immerses the student into practices and teachings which will give them tools to understand themselves more deeply, allow them to transmit the teachings to others and to teach yoga as it was originally envisioned.
Why is the training taught in 10 monthly modules?
Unlike other trainings where there may be a lot of information delivered and taught in a short amount of time, SSYTT training is offered in a style that allows the student to digest and process the material more thoroughly. Over the course of the 25-30 days between each module, students will be encouraged to practice the techniques for a concentrated period of time in order to understand and feel the effects of the practices and to more fully embody the teachings.
What is Vinyasa?
The word vinyasa has come to mean “flow” in todays modern yoga. But one of the other meanings of vinyasa is “to place in a special way”. It is how the postures are linked together that makes the difference. In Tantra Vinyasa we link dynamic postures together with pranayama, bandha’s, mudra’s, mantra, kriya, meditation and bhavana and in so doing we create a “vinyasa krama” or wise progression that brings an alchemical formula into our teaching that allows us to deliver a desired effect. It is knowing what to teach, when to teach it, for how long and to what effect that is the “vinyasa” that is important in SSYTT. It is with this knowledge that we can sequence a practice that suits the needs of the individual. And we start that process by turning the mirror on ourselves and learning what practice is best suited for us as the student.
What if I miss a session?
